Dr. Margarita Ramirez Vick
Board-certified Endocrinologist
Dr. Ramírez received her MD degree from the University of PR (UPR) School of Medicine, Medical Sciences Campus (MSC) as well as her specialty degree in Internal Medicine and subspecialty fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes.
Serves as full professor at the UPR School of Medicine for over 30 years contributing for the formation of medical students, residents in Internal Medicine and fellows in Endocrinology.
Former program director of the Fellowship Training Program in Endocrinology at the MSC of the UPR, maintaining its full accreditation status for over 20 years, and former Chief of the Endocrinology Division at the University District Hospital for 10 years.
Former clinical faculty and consultant at the Hospital Oncológico, Centro Comprensivo de Cáncer, Encompass Healthcare and Carolina Area Hospital UPR.
Clinical practice at the Clinics of the School of Medicine UPR for over 30 years treating adult patients with endocrinology disorders, including diabetes and insulin pumps, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, pituitary and adrenal disorders, among others.
Certified in the Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Elected fellow of the American College of Physicians and certified in bone densitometry by the International Society of Bone Densitometry.
Have participated in several research projects and clinical trials in the field of Endocrinology and published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of diabetes, thyroid cancer, PCOS, pituitary disease and osteoporosis.
Secretary of the Ethics Council of the Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de PR and secretary of the Sociedad Puertorriqueña de Endocrinología y Diabetología.
